The Cowboys are out here making moves!
ESPN reported Thursday that the Dallas Cowboys are inking ex-New York Jets defensive end Carl Lawson to a deal, this less than 24 hours after they acquired defensive tackle Jordan Phillips from the New York Giants in a trade Wednesday. The Cowboys have certainly made it clear that they’re happy with the progression of Mazi Smith, their first-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft. But with that being said, the franchise still had some worries about their depth at the defensive tackle position, which led to the acquisitions of Lawson and Phillips.
In his career, Lawson has put up a stat line of 27 sacks and 119 tackles, while Phillips has recorded 24 sacks and 181 tackles.

They’re not moves that are going to make or break a Super Bowl season, but they’re certainly ones that will help the Cowboys in their pursuit of a sixth championship. Not only are Lawson and Phillips two solid veterans, but this is coming on the defense, and in particular the defensive line where you most certainly want to have beef.
The Cowboys have caked up, ladies and gentlemen. Good investment on their part; now they just need to figure out the CeeDee Lamb situation.
