CNN morning show anchor and noted First Amendment expert Chris Cuomo believes guns are the problem in America today, or more precisely the ability to get gun. So when President Barack Obama used the Charleston Church Massacre to advance the issue of gun control, Cuomo jumped at the chance to parrot his call.
Thoughts on President Obama's argument not for just changing the law but culture when it comes to gun violence? http://t.co/UrekvxSNI3

Why wouldn't President raise issue of gun violence in #CharlestionShooting ? Tantamount to ignoring the racial aspect – central to "why"?
— Chris Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) June 18, 2015
Needless to say, many people took issue with both the President and Cuomo pushing an anti-Second Amendment agenda before the first victim was even buried, while others agreed with Cuomo and took it further.
What followed was a long exchange between Chris and his Twitter followers.
.@dorothyofisrael if President could do it unilaterally, he would. Legal precedent and popular sentiment are against major #guncontrol
— Chris Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) June 18, 2015
“@portdauphin: @ChrisCuomo @dorothyofisrael There is a process in place to amend the Constitution” true, but that is a remote possibility
— Chris Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) June 18, 2015
.@Hokibil #CharlestionShooting -victimized blacks, Cops say hate crime, white shooter, state flies confed flag, and people say not racial?
— Chris Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) June 18, 2015
“@billmon1: A "hate crime" in the same sense 9/11 was a hate crime. When will you call it what it is: Right wing terrorism?” Can be Both
— Chris Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) June 18, 2015
.@Angelleena @dorothyofisrael but polls /policies/SCOTUS reflect rejection of idea that guns are the problem. More see them as a solution?
— Chris Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) June 18, 2015
“@ArlingtonSteve: @ChrisCuomo the daily shootings get ignored. 8 shot in Chicago yesterday” a hate crime massacre deserves special attn
— Chris Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) June 18, 2015

.@PeggyBrava true. Nothing changes w/ guns, but what about all then other causes of violence? Can't we do so much more #CharlestionShooting
— Chris Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) June 18, 2015
.@HollyGoNightly1 can't be affected by negativity. keep challenging what's wrong and show what's right. The tragedy is failing to change
— Chris Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) June 18, 2015
“@Leonorcita2: He hasn't lift a finger to improve better gun control laws.”not true. Prez tried. No political will in dc. States did it
— Chris Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) June 18, 2015
“@E2Tha: I have a better question, why does anyone need guns so bad they can get them from just about anywhere?” Reflects laws on access
— Chris Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) June 18, 2015
.@BarStoolHero420 @xdanni1984x @TravlingDan sure I have. And I own a gun. Hunting people is the problem. Incomplete vetting is the problem

“@ArlingtonSteve: @ChrisCuomo @bs_uncle why is it so horrible to require photo ID to vote in 2016?” What if people don't have one?
— Chris Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) June 18, 2015
.@tortured_brain @snodlogic calling out a hate crime is not playing the race card – especially when too many refuse to acknowledge it
— Chris Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) June 18, 2015
