CNN president Jeff Zucker will reportedly be taking six weeks of leave to have surgery for a heart condition.

According to CNN media reporter Brian Stelter, Zucker announced the surgery for a “heart condition he has had for 10 years” during a morning meeting.

“Jeff Zucker just ended the CNN morning meeting with news of his own: He will be taking a six week leave for elective surgery to address a heart condition he has had for 10 years. He assured everyone he is going to be just fine. All of us are wishing him a very speedy recovery,” Stelter tweeted on Thursday.

Zucker recently signed a new contract to stay on at CNN through the 2020 presidential election. (RELATED: CNN Head Jeff Zucker Signs To Stay On Through 2020 Election)
