Motown singer Smokey Robinson hilariously mispronounced Chanukah, another spelling of Hanukkah, in a viral Cameo video.

Robinson was paid to do a video wishing a woman a happy Chanukah by Jeff Jacobson, according to a tweet shared by Jacobson.

“My mom grew up on the same street as Smokey Robinson in Detroit,” Twitter user Jacobson captioned the video he shared Sunday. “So for Chanukah, I wanted to reunite them via @Cameo. But the video takes a strange twist.”

Robinson seemingly doesn’t realize he has mispronounced the holiday. He also doesn’t seem to know what the Jewish holiday even is in the video. He pronounced it “Chon-uke-ah.” (RELATED: Jennifer Lopez Gets Emotional For As She Defends Her Motown Tribute At The Grammy Awards)

They told me you used to live in Detroit across the street from me, that’s beautiful,” Robinson says in the video. “How’re you doing, again? Nice talking to you, again, I guess.”

“They wanted me to wish you a happy Chanukah,” Robinson continued. “I have no idea what Chanukah is, but happy Chanukah because they said so. Anyway, god bless you, babe, and enjoy Chanukah.”
