San Diego State’s uniform game for this season is ugly.

According to Brett McMurphy (via Prep Sports Plus) the Aztecs will wear special red helmets, but they don’t look great. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

In fact, they look terrible. Take a look at this disaster of a helmet below.

I respect McMurphy a lot and I love his reporting. The fact he called these helmets “tremendous” is a laughably bad take.

They look absolutely awful and we shouldn’t be afraid to say it. They look terrible. How the hell is San Diego State supposed to win wearing these things?

This is why you generally shouldn’t stray too much when it comes to your uniforms. Alabama never strays and they win national championships.

Coincidence? Who knows, but it seems like there might be a connection!

I might have to bet against San Diego State as often as possible just to prove a point. As a football purist, we can’t tolerate this kind of nonsense. We just can’t do it!
