MLB commissioner Rob Manfred extended players in the league a bit of an olive branch with a recent gift.
Following a very tense lockout, Manfred sent every player in the MLB a pair of free Bose headphones and a letter voicing his “appreciation” for guys to celebrate the season starting, according to ESPN. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Rob Manfred has said he needs to repair his relationship with MLB players following the lockout. Here’s a small gesture from Opening Day. Each player had a gift box waiting at their locker with Bose headphones and this “note of appreciation” from Manfred inside. pic.twitter.com/kxHnGcoaQT

As of right now, the most expensive Bose headphones retail for just under $400 on the company’s website, and there’s roughly 900 players on rosters around the league.
My quick math skills tell me that Manfred’s little gift at most cost him $360,000, and I’d be shocked if he paid for it himself. The league almost certainly covered the bill.

Honestly, if I was an MLB player seriously upset about the relationship between the players and the league’s leaders, I wouldn’t accept such a laughable gift.
I love Bose headphones, but gifting grown men making millions a $400 pair of headphones as an apology is pretty damn insulting.

Do better, Manfred. Do much better!
