Rapper Young Thug’s nephew was reportedly arrested Wednesday for the murder of his girlfriend.

Destiny Fitzpatrick was shot in the face and killed inside a residence outside of Atlanta, according to TMZ. Young Thug’s nephew, Fardereen Deonta Grier, was allegedly crying when East Point police officers arrived at the property, where Fitzpatrick was already dead at the front door, the outlet reported.

A neighbor reportedly heard the couple arguing before Fitzpatrick was shot, TMZ reported. (RELATED: Man Waited 20 Years Before Admitting To Murdering His Girlfriend, Says He Didn’t Want To Disappoint His Parents)

Grier told the officers that he was Young Thug’s nephew, which was later confirmed by a source close to the rapper, TMZ continued. He initially told the officers that he was attempting to fight off two armed, masked intruders, but eventually he admitted to shooting Fitzpatrick, the outlet continued. He was arrested and charged with murder, the outlet noted.

Young Thug is currently in custody for a series of charges related to the Racketeer Influence and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and criminal street gang activity. He and fellow rapper Gunna are alleged to be members of the YSL Gang, who the prosecution says are responsible for the murder of 50 people.
