A CNN reporter received a brutally honest answer from a Brit on Thursday when he asked about her reaction to the Queen’s deteriorating health.

Queen Elizabeth II died Thursday at the age of 96 after ruling over the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms for more than 70 years.

While millions across the world anxiously awaited updates on the Queen’s health prior to her passing, one Brit had a brutally honest reaction when asked for her reaction to the situation. (RELATED: FLASHBACK: Queen Elizabeth Broke Tradition, Had ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ Played In Wake Of 9/11)

“I think it’s pretty sad when anyone gets in that position. You wouldn’t want that to happen to your own family member,” the woman said. “But I’m not the biggest fan of the queen or the monarchy in general, so I wasn’t that upset or overwhelmed by it.”

The woman then cited Britain’s “colonial history” as well as more recent “shady” activities, including sexual misconduct allegations against Prince Andrew, the queen’s second son.

Queen Elizabeth II began her reign on February 6, 1952, after the death of her father, King George VI. Her reign was the longest in British history and the second-longest in world history.
