The Brooklyn Nets have achieved a new level of embarrassment.
Kevin Durant and co. squared off Nov. 15 against the Sacramento Kings, getting completely blown out by the latter in a 153-121 defeat. Not only did the Nets get hammered by 31 points, but they also allowed a whopping 153 points in the game.

When the Brooklyn Nets pulled in talent such as Kevin Durant (KD), Kyrie Irving and James Harden, most people thought they’d be dominant and could possibly land a few championships, but it’s been anything but. In the past four seasons, they’ve only been victors in one playoff series, and that came all the way back in 2021.
Charles Barkley, who has been hammering Brooklyn for quite some time now, once again took a swing at the team after Tuesday’s game. It happened before the Kings game, which made Barkley’s comments age like fine wine.
“It’s so amazing about basketball,” Barkley said. “This team’s been together for four years. And when they went there four years ago, we were like, ‘Oh they gonna win a couple championships.’ They ain’t even close, and it’s almost over.”
“Obviously at the end of this year there’s going to be some wholesale changes, but man, when you got a good team, you have to take advantage of it. You cannot be screwing around. This is a wasted four years for these guys,” Barkley continued.

I was one who liked the original Nets trio of Durant, Irving and James Harden, so it’s quite disappointing they didn’t work out (and, in defense of KD, he was out there on the court still being KD, and still is), and now the franchise has gotten to a point of chaos — even having to deal with somebody like Ben Simmons. It’s sad. The Brooklyn Nets brand has a ton of swag, they’re in major metro New York City, they had their own flashy Big 3…what could have been. Instead, it’s been a sh*tshow.
