British comedian Eddie Izzard has decided to take on a new name, according to reports.

Izzard claimed in an interview on the Political Party podcast, that has taken on the female name “Suzy” in addition to his current name.

“I’m Eddie,” he said. “There’s another name I’m going to add in as well, which is Suzy, which I wanted to be since I was 10. I’m going to be Suzy Eddie Izzard. So I’m going to be Suzy Eddie Izzard, that’s how I’m going to roll, so people can choose what they want. They can’t make a mistake, they can’t go wrong.” (RELATED: Texas Rep Vows To File Legislation To Ban Drag Shows For Minors)

Izzard once dated a woman named Susie Church, according to a 2019 article in the Shropshire Star. Church died in 2016.

Izzard, who came out as a transvestite in 1985, frequently plays with gender stereotypes and has changed how he identifies himself multiple times in recent years.

In 2017, Izzard told the Hollywood Reporter, “I am essentially transgender. I have boy mode and girl mode. I do feel I have boy genetics and girl genetics.”

In 2020, Izzard announced that he identifies as gender-fluid, and requested to be addressed with she/her pronouns, but Dec. 2022, he told The Irish Times he wouldn’t take offense at male pronouns. “Prefer she/her, don’t mind he/him, so no one can get it wrong,” Izzard said.

In the past, Izzard has referred to himself as, “a lesbian trapped in a man’s body,” and “a complete boy plus half a girl.”
