“From” is the greatest television series that no one is talking about. Here’s why you absolutely have to catch-up on it today.

When the first season of “From” dropped in 2022, I couldn’t get it on my TV. But I felt a deep compulsion to watch what appeared to be a terrifying, cryptic, “what would you do in this situation”-style horror story. I absolutely guarantee you will feel the same way after watching just half of the first episode of season one (as a huge group of my friends did this past weekend).

Starring “Lost” icon Harold Perrineau and a slew of exceptionally talented up-and-coming actors, “From” chronicles the lives of a group of people who find themselves stuck in a purgatory-like nightmare of a town.

When the sun goes down, hideous monsters walk from the shadows and devour the townspeople, no matter where they hide. And there are so many other mysteries and horrors awaiting once the first episode wraps up.

A group of strangers trapped in a strange, scary place that doesn’t make any scientific sense; Sounds a bit like “Lost,” right? Wrong.

“From” is the antithesis of “Lost.” For every goofy, cheesy, tabloid-style hyperbole of “Lost,” the latter series offers a heart-stopping scare, a gut-wrenching emotional dump, and a frantic need to know what happens next. The writer’s ability to infect the veins of viewers with a deep addiction to the storyline is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, and thus far, it seems to stay consistent, unlike “Lost.”

The second season of “From” dropped in late April. With each episode lasting anywhere from 45 minutes to almost an hour, I figured it would take me a while to catch up. I watched all ten episodes of the first season in three days, then rewatched them all again with my boyfriend over the weekend. Without giving away too many spoilers, one of my favorite things about “From” is how it forces you to ask questions of yourself. How would you fit into the town? What do you think each of the clues means?

What is this place, and how should we go about figuring out why everyone ended up there? I already know the answers to these questions for myself, but you’ll need to sit and sort out your own sociology after watching the first episode.

We’re starting the second episode of season two today. You should absolutely take the time to catch up on this epic series. You will be totally hooked after the first episode, and you can call me out on Twitter if you’re not.

Here’s the season one trailer so you can check it out.
