CNN commentator Van Jones made a bizarre child molestation analogy when discussing Florida’s black history curriculum on Friday.

Jones, along with many left-wing pundits, condemned Florida’s educational curriculum on black history after Republican presidential candidate Tim Scott said at an event in Iowa that there was “no silver lining in slavery.” The left-wing has accused the curriculum of teaching about the benefits of slavery, although it teaches about the “various duties and trades” slaves conducted that personally benefited them in particular cases.

Van Jones said this curriculum is like downplaying child molestation.

“What if I got up here and said ‘you know, maybe your piano teacher molested you, but at least you learned how to play the piano. Maybe your football coach molested you, but at least you learned how to throw a football,’” Jones said. “Would that be acceptable? I think people would be shocked to hear somebody say something that stupid and tone deaf and horrible. But that’s what DeSantis is doing. And I think it should be disqualifying, the party of Lincoln, the party of Lincoln should not have somebody apologizing for slavery anywhere near them.”

The curriculum was designed by history scholar Dr. William B. Allen and included portions that focus on the skills slaves learned by slaves other than agriculture. (RELATED: DeSantis Accuses Byron Donalds Of ‘Siding With Kamala Harris’ On African American Curriculum)

“In addition to agricultural work, enslaved people learned specialized trades and worked as painters, carpenters, tailors, musicians, and healers in the North and South. Once free, African Americans used these skills to provide for themselves and others,” a document from the College Board reads.

The course also teaches about the “conditions of slavery,” “African Americans who demonstrated heroism and patriotism” and those who made “positive contributions to the state of Florida,” according to the curriculum outline.

Vice President Kamala Harris also condemned the curriculum on the same grounds as Rep. Scott and Van Jones.

Jones once cried live on-air after President Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election.
