A judge reportedly ordered Nicky Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, to be placed under house arrest after he allegedly violated his federal probation by threatening famous rapper Offset.

Petty is currently under 120 days of house detention, TMZ reported Thursday. Court documents reviewed by the outlet indicated Petty violated his probation by “making threatening remarks while in the company of someone with a criminal record.” He will be monitored by authorities, and may be fitted with an electronic GPS ankle bracelet that will track his precise location and his movements.

The four months he will reportedly spend cooped up in his home are intended to be an opportunity to keep an eye on his activities, and ensure Petty abides by the conditions imposed on him by the court, according to TMZ.

Petty is being penalized for posting an Instagram video that appears to show him and two of his friends blasting famous rapper Offset and acting in a menacing way towards him. The group taunted him and shouted out to Offset with various threats while standing across the street from the New York City hotel he was allegedly staying in, TMZ reported.

Offset took to social media and posted a retaliation video of his own, according to the outlet. He filmed himself standing on an airport tarmac in front of his private jet, chuckling and appearing to taunt Petty by showing him he was nowhere near the hotel. Federal agents later took matters into their own hands, TMZ reported.

Petty has had numerous run-ins with the law in the past. He was convicted of attempted rape and attempted murder and has also served two prison terms. His most recent legal woes took place in 2022 when he was sentenced to three years’ probation for failing to register as a sex offender in the state of California.
