Starting pitcher Dean Kremer, who is an Israeli-American, will make his first career playoff start Tuesday night for the Baltimore Orioles — doing so with gargantuan stress on his mind, as the 27-year-old has family members in Israel.

The holy nation has declared war against the terrorist organization Hamas following their attacks that have so far killed over 1,500 people.

Taking on the Texas Rangers in Game 3 of the American League Division Series, in what’s a must-win for the O’s being on the brink of elimination, Kremer said Monday that he has no hesitation whatsoever about pitching in the contest.

“I still want to pitch, but, I mean, it’s going to be in the back of my head,” said Kremer.

A lot of the pitcher’s extended family resides in Israel, with Kremer himself having dual citizenship. Not giving many details, Kremer said they’re fine for now.

Kremer, though born and raised in Stockton, California, identifies as Israeli and has Israeli parents. Fluent in Hebrew, the pitcher spends time in the Jewish state on an annual basis.

Just a day after the attacks on Israel, Kremer was made aware Sunday that he was starting in Game 3, with Baltimore manager Brandon Hyde checking in with him over breakfast Monday.

“Gave him my support and sympathies for him and his family that’s involved, and he seemed OK,” said Hyde. “Obviously, he’s very disturbed and there’s a lot of things going on. But I didn’t sense that it was going to affect … I think he’s really looking forward to pitching tomorrow so I didn’t think it was going to affect him.”

Kremer went on to say that pretty much everybody in the Orioles clubhouse has checked on him. (RELATED: Parents Of Detroit Lions’ Alex Anzalone Stuck In Israel After Hamas Launches Attacks On Holy Nation)

“I’m very grateful for that,” said Kremer.

In 32 starts this season, Kremer has tallied a 13-5 record with a 4.12 ERA.
