Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is pushing to censure Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib over her pro-Palestine views.

“I’m writing a censure resolution for Rashida Tlaib,” Greene wrote on X. “After what she did today, I expect even Democrats will join in. She is an Israel hating American hating woman who does not represent anything America stands for.”

Tlaib sobbed Wednesday as she repeated Hamas’ disputed claim that an Israel airstrike killed hundreds of people at a hospital in the Gaza Strip.

That same day, pro-Palestinian demonstrators demanded an end to the violence in the Gaza Strip since Hamas and protested inside the House of Representatives Cannon Building. U.S. Capitol Police arrested several protesters.

Greene posted an image of a letter she sent to U.S Capitol Police, requesting that they “preserve all video surveillance footage, photographic evidence, police reports, and arrest records from all House Office Buildings” from Wednesday’s Capitol protest. She claimed that the demonstration was “an insurrection happening on Capitol Hill,” in an apparent jab at the response to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. There is currently infighting among Democratic elected officials on how the U.S. should respond to Hamas’ recent attack on Israel. Tlaib previously wrote in a statement on her website that “President Biden has not expressed empathy for the millions of Palestinian civilians facing brutal airstrikes and the threat of invasion in Gaza,” blaming Israel for the “collective punishment of Palestinian civilians.”

Greene was removed from the House Freedom Caucus in July for supporting former Speaker Kevin McCarthy throughout the marathon 15-vote series in January.
