Famous rapper Paul Costict from B-Rrock and The Bizz died unexpectedly, Saturday, at the age of 57.

A family member reported that the talented artist passed away in his home in Norfolk, Virginia, according to TMZ. His cause of death remains unclear at this time, but the family member who confirmed his death reported they spoke to Paul Wednesday, and he reported feeling ill recently, in spite of being in good spirits.

B-Rock and The Bizz were recognized as being the first rap group from Mobile, Alabama, when they formed in 1986. The hip-hop collective was comprised of the producer, rapper and singer, Baron “B-Rock” Agee, his brother Leevirt Agee, Thaddeus “T-Bird” Maye and Costict.

They soared to the top of the charts with their hit single “My Baby Daddy,” in 1997, from their debut album “Porkin’ Beans & Wienes.”

The song caught on quickly and earned the group a gold certification when it soared up to the number 10 spot on the Billboard 100.

In addition to being a talented member of the band, Costict was also the group’s road manager, according to TMZ.

He eventually ended up in a bitter dispute over his gold album with his ex-wife, Lasancious, and the two famously battled over the rights and earnings from the song on a television episode of “Divorce Court.”

Despite being considered to be a “one-hit-wonder” by many fans the group held a rightful place in the hip-hop community. Many artists paid homage to the group’s success, as recently as 2022, when Rihanna was spotted a ‘dat’s just my baby daddy’ t-shirt during her pregnancy. Costict’s fellow band member and dear friend, Thaddeus “T-Bird” is among many who shared messages of love and condolences upon hearing of his death. Thaddeus remembered him as “a very funny and Kool brother,” according to TMZ.
