One person was killed after a cruise ship excursion boat partially sank in the Bahamas Tuesday.

A 75-year-old American tourist died after an excursion boat that works with multiple cruise lines out of Paradise Island, Nassau, partially sank, according to Maritime Executive. Two other people were taken to hospital after the incident, in which the crew aboard the ship did very little to address the situation, other passengers noted.

“One of the crewmembers who was downstairs ran upstairs and was crying, absolutely bawling, and grabbing a life jacket. That’s when everybody was like . . . this is real, something’s happening,” one passenger said on social media.

Footage shared on Youtube shows the moment passengers realized the boat they were on was starting to sink. Absolute pandemonium echoes across the deck as people hurry to put on their life jackets and try to steady the vessel, and the boat starts to seriously lurch to one side. “Everybody’s freaking out,” the person filming the video can be heard saying.

The camera then pans to show the bottom half of the boat disappearing beneath the waves before it careens to the right, almost falling totally on its side as passengers screamed in terror. Some can even be seen leaping into the water and swimming for a smaller vessel. (RELATED: First 8K Video Of Titanic Wreck Released)

The waters in which the boat sank were relatively shallow, so when it finally hit the bottom near Blue Lagoon Island, the top deck was still above the waves.
