Rapper and music mogul Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, stepped down Tuesday from his chairman role at Revolt TV amid ongoing sexual assault lawsuits.

Revolt TV released a statement on Instagram, clarifying the rapper did not have a role in its day-to-day operations and that his departure will help the network remain focused on its goal of serving the black community and “the culture.” (RELATED: Diddy Accused Of ‘Savagely’ Beating And Raping His Ex Girlfriend: REPORT)

The network said the decision will, “ensure that REVOLT remains steadfastly focused on our mission to create meaningful content for the culture and amplify the voices of all Black people throughout this country and the African diaspora.”

“Our focus has always been one that reflects our commitment to the collective journey of Revolt — one that is not driven by an individual, but by the shared efforts and values of our entire team on behalf of advancing, elevating and championing our culture — and that continues,” the statement continued.

Diddy has found himself embroiled in multiple sexual assault lawsuits filed by women previously connected to the rapper. In mid November, Cassie, an R&B singer and his former girlfriend, settled a lawsuit against Diddy in which she claimed he raped and physically assaulted her. Two more women stepped forward in late November to sue Diddy under the New York Adult Survivors’ Act.

Joi Dickerson-Neal accused Diddy of drugging and raping her in 1991. Another woman, who filed under the name Jane Doe, alleged Diddy sexually assaulted her and choked her days later to intimidate her from reporting the incident.

Combs has denied the allegations and claimed they are an attempt to gain money.

“Because of Mr. Combs’ fame and success, he is an easy target for accusers who will falsify the truth, without conscience or consequence, for financial benefit,” a statement from Diddy’s spokesperson said. “The New York Legislature surely did not intend or expect the Adult Survivors Act to be exploited for improper purposes. The public should be skeptical and not rush to accept these unsubstantiated allegations.”
