Alabama police arrested a convicted sex offender from California and charged him with allegedly paying an underage girl to produce nude videos of herself, authorities said Tuesday.
Tuscaloosa police arrested Efon Guiseppe Carter, 24, of Los Angeles on Nov. 25 following a two-month long investigation by the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force, AL.com reported.
In August, investigators were informed that Carter was text messaging and communicating with the underage victim in Tuscaloosa through social media, according to the outlet. (RELATED: New Jersey High School Rocked As Students Share Fake Nudes Of Real Girls)
Carter allegedly told the victim he would pay her $8 for videos of her dancing in her underwear and $10 if she would “twerk with no shorts on,” AL.com reported.
Investigators found messages on the victim’s cell phone that indicate Carter allegedly gave specific instructions on how to make the videos and that he paid her through Cash App, according to AL.com.
“The videos clearly show the child displaying genital and breast nudity as well as performing acts requested by Carter,” an investigator wrote in a deposition, AL.com reported.
Police obtained warrants for Carter’s arrest, and the Los Angeles Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Task Force nabbed him on October 20, according to AL.com.
On November 25, Carter was extradited to Alabama and detained at the Tuscaloosa County Jail, the outlet reported.
Police charged Carter with first-degree human trafficking, production of obscene material depicting a person under the age of 17 engaged in obscene acts, electronic solicitation of a child and transmitting obscene material to a child by computer, according to AL.com.
Carter, who is being held at the Tuscaloosa County Jail, is scheduled for a January hearing, the outlet reported.
