EXCLUSIVE: House GOP Campaign Arm Launches New Ad Targeting Dems For ‘Biden Border Crisis’

The House Republican campaign arm is launching a new digital ad, first shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation, targeting President Joe Biden and the Democrats for the crisis at the southern border.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is releasing the ad, titled “The Biden Border Crisis,” amid a contentious election year where immigration is a top issue for voters. The video displays footage from the crossings at the southern border, along with media clips of migrants thanking the president for letting them into the country.

“Extreme House Democrats have twisted themselves into so many knots trying to ignore the border crisis they should receive a Boy Scout merit badge,” Will Reinert, national press secretary for the NRCC, told the DCNF in a statement. “Unfortunately for Washington Democrats, their policy acrobatics don’t align with the views of Americans who think their policies are radical and unserious.”

One of the interactions displayed in the video was an interview between the DCNF and a Venezuelan man who was recently released into the country. The migrant thanked Biden for “this opportunity,” adding that “without your help we wouldn’t be here.”

Clips of White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Vice President Kamala Harris and former Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi were also displayed in the video.

“The president has taken this issue very seriously,” Jean-Pierre said in the video.

“We have a secure border,” Harris can be heard saying.

The video also includes a compilation of media reports and statistics on the border crossings, the strain on Border Patrol agents and Americans growing concerned over the issue.

“Extreme Democrats invited a border crisis … but refuse to acknowledge it,” the video displays. “Now Americans are worried … Republicans are ready to secure the border.”

The NRCC’s ad comes as the White House and congressional leaders negotiate on a border and foreign aid deal. House Republicans are also carrying out hearings focused on impeachment proceedings against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

The Biden administration has seen a record amount of illegal immigration, with over 2.2 million encounters during Fiscal Year 2022 and more than 2 million in Fiscal Year 2023, according to Customs and Border Protection. Citing internal government sources, Fox News reported that Fiscal Year 2024 has already seen a record number of illegal immigration in December with over 300,000 encounters.

Neither Biden’s campaign nor the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee immediately responded to the DCNF’s requests for comment.
