It be like that.

Ha-Seong Kim, a Gold Glove middle infielder for the San Diego Padres, was at the center of conversation while his teammates right fielder Fernanado Tatis Jr. and left fielder Jurickson Profar were recently choppin’ it up with Chicago Cubs first baseman (and former teammate of Kim) Eric Hosmer on his “Diggin’ Deep Podcast.”

Hosmer got things sparked up when he brought up Kim’s first season in MLB, which led into a story that he gave about the Korean star liking to rip cigarettes to calm his nerves — something that’s quite common with Korean and Japanese baseball players.

“So Kim, his first year, just crushing cigarettes,” said Hosmer. “You go to use the bathroom down in the clubhouse and Kim is just boom, boom, boom.”

WATCH:

As a cigarette smoker (and also as somebody who’s trying to quit that nasty ish), I completely understand where Ha-Seong Kim is coming from.

Me personally, I wake up at 5:00 a.m. every morning, ram out some of my Daily Caller quota, and then eventually it’s time to wake up my girls for homeschool. I let them wake up, eat, brush their teeth, watch SpongeBob, whatever they gotta do to get going for an hour, this allows me to hammer out another blog. By this time, I’m halfway done, and that’s when it’s time to start homeschool. That goes for seven hours, with me being the full-time teacher and I’m being top-notch about it too, I want my girls to be elite.

Well, in the process of this, I still have to work. So to continue my day: After I give them a lesson and hand them their assignments, that’s when I get my other blogs done. Also in the middle of the workday and homeschooling, I like to at least get a 30 minute-workout of cardio and weightlifting in, so I pencil that for 12:00 p.m. (this has become our Physical Education class). When I’m done with work, homeschooling and I’ve got my workout in, it’s then time to shift to side-hustles (with the exception of Wednesday, because I have Bible Study that night). I do these for 4-5 hours, and then at 8:00 p.m. ET, I get back to my work at the Daily Caller because I like to get ahead … and I’ll just be honest … I’m a bit of a workaholic. After that, I grind a little bit more (maybe an hour or two) on side-hustles, and then it’s to bed to do it all over again the next day

Oh, and in the process of this, I still have to be a husband, a dad and maintain the crap load of other responsibilities that I have.

So trust me … I know EXACTLY where Ha-Seong Kim is coming from. Sometimes you just need a cigarette.
