A Missouri man discovered a mummified baby in his mother’s freezer.
Adam Smith of St. Louis claimed he was going through his mother’s things after she recently passed away from cancer, when he came across a box in the freezer, according to a report published Monday by NBC5.

Smith has always been told the box contained a wedding cake topper, but became curious that his mother may have been hiding some cash.
“I’m 37, and it has been in my freezer for 37 years and I was always told it was a wedding cake top,” Smith told NBC5. (RELATED: Woman Gets Into Fight, Drops Baby On Pavement, Police Say. 3-Month-Old Later Dies)
Instead of money, Smith found a deceased baby wrapped in pink fleece in the box.
“It still had skin, hair and everything, it was mummified,” Smith said. “After that, I freaked out, put it in the box and called police right away.”

Smith admitted his mom was a secretive person and he’d never thought to even look inside the box.
“I’ve asked her several times, it was either a no-no conversation or blew me off. My mom has always been secretive about things, about life,” Smith added.
The St. Louis local assumed the baby in the freezer was his sister after admitting his mother once told him about a sibling who passed away before he was born. Mostly, Smith just wants answers.
“I’m more confused, angry,” Smith said. “I just want to find closure, I want to find more answers.”
