Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have signed a multimillion-dollar deal with Spotify to produce podcasts.

The royal duo, who stepped away from their roles in January, have created Archewell Audio and will create content “that uplifts and entertains audiences around the world,” according to an article published Tuesday by Page Six.

“What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction,” the Duke and Duchess said in a joint statement, according to the outlet. “With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other’s stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are,” the statement continued.

What an interesting, but unsurprising development in the Markle and Prince Harry saga. I can’t say for sure that they quit their jobs as royals to become Hollywood royals, but it really sure seems like that.

The next Barack and Michelle Obama actually.

I’m really interested to see what kind of content they end up producing and if it’s even good. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. I’d really like to know the behind-the-scenes story about them up and leaving the royal family, but we know we’ll never get that from them.
