Presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump took aim at Fox News host Shannon Bream Wednesday after she defended President Joe Biden from accusations of involvement in Trump’s Manhattan trial.

Attorney Alina Habba, who previously represented Trump, sparred with Bream Wednesday as the Fox News host insisted that the Biden administration is “not responsible” for the trial brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Bream brought up the “morality” of Trump’s involvement with pornographic actress Stormy Daniels before responding defensively when Habba characterized the New York case as a politicized “Biden trial.”

Trump reacted to Bream’s dispute with his former attorney on Truth Social, noting that Biden is “counting on the Shannon Breams of the World” to secure Democratic incumbent’s second term as president.

“I never knew Shannon Bream was so “naïve.” In her interview with my Representative, Alina Habba, Shannon just suggested that Crooked Joe Biden was not involved in my Show Trial. HOW STUPID! Not only is he involved, he is virtually leading it, and all of the other Trials as well – Meaning, his people, because he’s not mentally sharp enough to lead anything! Just take a look at the DOJ/White House Thugs involved, and everything else. Biden is incompetent, and feels that Weaponization is the only way he can win. He’s counting on the Shannon Breams of the World to get him there. Bad day for Shannon!” Trump wrote.

In a separate post, Trump suggested that Bream and Fox News’ Neil Cavuto “team up” and host a show together because they are both “anti-MAGA.” Cavuto is known for his icy reception toward Trump, whose speeches he has not hesitated to cut off and correct.

Habba told Bream that Biden has to “distract” voters from his administration’s shortcomings using “extortion” tactics against Trump, which Habba referred to as “a natural consequence of being a very effective human being.” The attorney cited the Biden campaign’s appearance outside the courthouse with actor Robert De Niro and the president’s reported plan to address Trump’s trial verdict from the White House as examples of this. Bream abruptly concluded her exchange with Habba after the attorney ripped on Biden for opting to “attack his political opponent” instead of “[focusing] on the real things” like the influx of migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, the fentanyl crisis and “children being mutilated” by transgender surgeries.

This is not the first time Bream has become combative about Trump. The “Fox News Sunday” anchor previously sparred with Republican New York Rep. Elise Stefanik on May 19 about her support for Trump in the context of previous comments reported by the New York Times (NYT).

A jury of seven men and five women began deliberating Wednesday in Trump’s Manhattan trial. The Republican candidate faces 34 counts for allegedly falsified business records related to reimbursing his former attorney Michael Cohen for a $130,000 payment made to Daniels in exchange for her silence about claims of an affair before the 2016 election.
