Rick Santorum hits a double with a new video out today parodying Jon Huntsman’s recent web series, while also taking a swipe at front runner Mitt Romney. (Utah Democrats mock Jon Huntsman’s unconventional ads)

It’s the first presidential video from the former Pennsylvania senator and the second parody in as many days of Huntsman’s countdown series. Like Huntsman’s video series, Santorum’s 30-second bit features a mystery motocross rider ripping through the dessert. This stunt man, however, takes a pretty rough tumble at the end.

It’s a clever spot coming from Santorum, who announced his intent to run on June 6. Apart from Gary Johnson’s debate-of-one video last week, Santorum’s is the first video from any 2012 Republican candidate to take a clear and direct swipe at the other contenders. Unfortunately, the attack is a surprisingly passé one, as the rest of the country focuses on a floundering economy, Santorum’s focused on another topic:

“Today. … Hasn’t signed the anti-abortion pledge,” mimics the add. “Just like Mitt Romney …”
