New York Republican Rep. Peter King on Tuesday blasted those who booed First Lady Melania Trump at a youth opioid summit in Baltimore, Maryland, saying the behavior is “absolutely disgraceful.”

The First Lady was in Baltimore to speak to students about the dangers of opioid use and to promote healthy choices, as a part of her “Be Best” campaign. As she was speaking she received boos from some the crowd, to which King reacted with strong words.

“If any issue should be free from abusive, rude behavior, it should be protecting kids from opioids. Has the left no sense of decency?!?,” King said on Twitter. (RELATED: New York Republican Congressman Peter King Announces He Won’t Seek Re-Election)

“Thank you to all of the students who are here. I am so proud of you for the bravery it takes to share that you have been strongly affected by the opioid epidemic in some way,” Trump said above the noise inside the auditorium at University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
