It sounds like filming “1883” wasn’t a super easy experience.

The hit “Yellowstone” prequel took the nation by storm when it premiered on Paramount+, and it immediately became one of the most popular shows on TV.

It turns out, filming the show was just as gritty and dark as the show itself, and star Tim McGraw said there weren’t a ton of opportunities to show.

“As a musician you don’t see a lot of sunrises. I think I’ve seen a few sunrises for a while. When Faith and I sat down to sign the contracts, I said, ‘We are no longer the boss anymore. We are hired hands. We will never have a comfortable day.’ We were burning hot or freezing cold. There weren’t a lot of showers until I was forced every now and then. It was hard work,” McGraw explained at Deadline’s Contenders TV event, according to Deadline.

I guess the stars of “1883” didn’t have a very easy time filming the hit western! Perhaps, that’s why it felt so authentic and real.

Most Hollywood stars need to be pampered at all times. Not the people working on “1883.” Tim McGraw didn’t even shower regularly.

I would love to see some of the softer actors in Hollywood try to star in a Taylor Sheridan production. Something tells me that it wouldn’t go over very well.

“1883” is about how brutal the journey out west was for people, and McGraw embraced that mentality while filming. It clearly paid off because the show was a gigantic hit.

If you haven’t watched “1883” yet, I can’t recommend it enough. You can catch it all on Paramount+, and I suggest you do!
