Three people were shot Sunday at the swanky Glen Cove hotel in Long Island, New York following an altercation during a “Celebrity” pool party.
The “Big Fendi Celebrity Birthday Celebration” was upset just after 5 p.m., when a gunman started firing rounds in the hotel lobby, according to CBS News. Three people were struck, and all were taken to a local hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the outlet. One of the injured was a security guard who was reportedly escorting the suspect out of the party, Lt. John Nagle, the Glen Cove Police Department’s public information officer, explained, according to Newsday. Following “some type of fight,” the suspect lashed out and opened fire at the guard and two other party-goers, Nagle said.

Between 150 and 200 people allegedly attended the event, which had been advertised online, authorities stated.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene following the shooting, escaping arrest, CBS noted. No weapon was retrieved from the scene either, according to Newsday.
“These were not Glen Cove people. They came in from out of town,” Republican Glen Cove Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck stated while announcing the town will not allow any more permits for events like the rapper’s birthday bash, according to NBC. “It won’t happen again.”
