Comedian Bill Maher predicted Republicans will do well in the midterms because the far left has gone too “woke.”

Maher joined comedian Bill Burr on his podcast Thursday, where he predicted that approximately 300 Republicans “who don’t believe in Democracy” will win in Tuesday’s midterm elections. Maher also warned that things would “fundamentally change” in the country after the midterms.

“They’re definitely going to win,” Maher said, explaining that the far left is out of touch with Americans.

“I’m on Fox News all the time because I will — Look, I will take on … it’s just that just that I am very much a critic of what goes on on the fringe of the left. I mean woke culture has just, that’s one reason why the Republicans are going to do so well in this election, because the left has gone super crazy with lots of shit that the average American just never voted for, doesn’t recognize in this country, doesn’t want.” (RELATED: Bill Maher Says It ‘Makes Absolutely No Sense’ To Beg Saudis For Oil)

RealClearPolitics predicts Republicans will take 54 seats in the Senate while Democrats will hold 46. Meanwhile FiveThirtyEight founder Nate Silver said Republicans have a 48% change of taking the Senate, putting it “officially in toss up territory.” Republicans are also heavily favored to retake the House, with Silver noting that, according to his model, “Democrats will have to do more than just win the majority of toss-up races to control the House.”
