A woman is suing boxing legend Mike Tyson for $5 million after accusing him of violently raping her inside a limousine in the early 1990s.

The plaintiff, who has so far remained anonymous, filed legal documents in Albany in Jan. 2023, saying she suffered from “physical, psychological, and emotional injury” following the alleged rape, according to the New York Post. The woman alleges she met Tyson at a nightclub called “Septembers” in Albany, but did not provide the exact date of her alleged attack. She is seeking $5 million in damages, according to the New York Post.

Tyson allegedly invited the woman into his limousine after offering to pick up her friend and take them both to a party. She alleges that Tyson came on to her as soon as they were in the vehicle and began touching her and attempting to kiss her, according to the New York Post.

“I told him no several times and asked him to stop, but he continued to attack me,” the woman said. “He then pulled my pants off and violently raped me,” she said, according to the New York Post.

The alleged victim was able to file her lawsuit in accordance with the newly adopted “Adult Survivors Act” which permits sexual assault victims to litigate over attacks that would previously have exceed the statute of limitations, according to the New York Post.

It is unclear if the driver of the limousine was in the vehicle at the time of the rape, or if the vehicle was in motion during the assault. (RELATED: Mike Tyson Narrowly Evades Criminal Charges)

The alleged victim said revealing her identity “would certainly pose a risk to [her] of further mental harm, harassment, ridicule or personal embarrassment,” and has opted to remain unidentified at this time, according to the New York Post.

The woman’s alleged abuse timeline correlates with the same timeframe that Desiree Washington said accused Tyson of raping her. Tyson was convicted of raping Washington in 1992 and served a three-year prison sentence for his involvement in the assault, according to the New York Post.

The boxing legend has maintained his innocence in the Washington case, but has not yet publicly commented about this newly filed $5 million lawsuit.
