At first, it looked like the NBA wasn’t going to do anything, but they finally pulled the trigger.

The NBA announced late Tuesday night that they are suspending Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green for one game after stomping on the chest of Sacramento Kings’ Domantas Sabonis.

“The suspension was based in part on Green’s history of unsportsmanlike acts,” the NBA said in an official statement.

Green will serve the one-game suspension Thursday when Golden State faces off against Sacramento at Chase Center in San Francisco. The Warriors are currently down 0-2 in the NBA Playoffs first round series.

Things went down between Green and Sabonis in the fourth quarter of the Kings’ 114-106 Game 2 victory Monday. With 7:03 left in the game, Sabonis slipped and fell in the paint, grabbing Green’s leg in response. Green shook off Sabonis’ grip, but then took a hard stomp right on the chest of Sabonis.

After the incident, Sabonis was down on the court for a few minutes while referees were reviewing the play. When officials were done, they hit Sabonis with a technical foul for grabbing Green’s leg, and then with Green, he was automatically ejected after being called for a flagrant foul 2.
