Former White House Director of Communications and “The View” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin criticized the media on Tuesday for constantly covering the border under the Trump Administration but not the Biden Administration.

The panel was discussing the impending end of Title 42, the expected mass migrant surge, and Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas’ refusal to call the situation at the border a crisis.

Griffin first gave a short defense of Mayorkas, instead saying it’s a “Biden policy issue” causing the border chaos, but added that Mayorkas isn’t blame free.

“He has refused to say the word ‘crisis.’ Even asked lately about it on ’60 Minutes,’ you were the White House communications director. Can you speak to the importance of words and if hearing him say what it is, what the numbers bear out, would be helpful to this debate over what we do about it?” co-host Poppy Harlow asked.

“No one can honestly deny that there is not a crisis at the border,” Farah Griffin said. “I get frustrated. The Trump-era coverage was constant, it was showing what were inhumane conditions at the site … I went to a number of them. It’s as bad if not worse right now. We are saying it’s more humane to let migrants come into the country and then live on the margins without proper care here, that is not okay, whether it’s dealing with the drug issue, the human trafficking issue or just simply people coming here and not taken care of in this country. It is unequivocally a crisis. It will get way worse once Title 42 expires.” (RELATED: Reporter Presses KJP On Why Biden Is ‘Holding A Movie Night’ Amid Illegal Immigration, Debt Limit, Mass Shooting)

Title 42 is a Trump-era policy allowing the fast expulsion of migrants during a public health emergency. The policy is set to end Thursday. The Biden Administration is deploying troops to the southern border to help perform administrative tasks before the policy ends.
