Suzanne Somers suffered a cancer-related setback that requires her to take a step back from her career, effective immediately, according to Page Six.

The 76-year-old “Three’s Company” star has been notably absent from her Facebook Live show where she routinely appears alongside her husband Alan Hamel, Page Six noted. Hamel reportedly confirmed her health issues are the reason behind the halt in her work schedule.

“Suzanne has lived with cancer all her life,” Hamel said. “In her 20s, she’d also dealt with two hyperplasia … which is the waiting room for cancer,” he said, according to Page Six.

Hamel went on to note that Somers fought skin cancer in her 30s, breast cancer in her 50s and also had a hysterectomy, per Page Six.

“She has now dealt with her cancer once again,” Hamel reportedly said. “On June 6, she got an all-clear, but cancer is tricky and we will now closely monitor everything going forward,” Hamel told Page Six.

Hamel went on to discuss the many ways Somers routinely wards off her cancer and how she manages to live a relatively normal life, in spite of her numerous health challenges.

“All her doctors said if she didn’t lead a chemical-free, organic life supported by bioidentical hormones, she wouldn’t be with us,” he said, according to Page Six. (RELATED: Soap Opera Legend Reveals Major Health Update)

Somers has reportedly put great emphasis on her sleep and maintains healthy eating habits that include an all-organic diet. She only purchases food and beauty products that are chemical free, and has been making those conscious shopping decisions since her breast cancer diagnosis in 2000, according to Page Six.

“We decided to put work on the back burner for now and focus on her health,” Hamel said.

“Cancer is a huge epidemic. A few years ago, she dedicated one of her books to 20-plus people in our lives who died of cancer,” he said.
