A man, who describes himself as a “political candidate” on social media, was arrested and charged with the murder of his mother, Law and Crime reported Monday.

Authorities apprehended 30-year-old Vladislav Deshkovich following a 911 call reporting an assault, according to Law and Crime. When the police arrived at their house, they found 52-year-old Inna Deshkovich with multiple stab wounds, seven stabs in the neck and shoulders, and three stabs in the face. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident stemmed from a dispute over money, according to authorities, Law and Crime reported.

Earlier that day, neighbors allegedly heard the mother screaming. One neighbor reportedly went to their house. “She came up and knocked on the door,” neighbor Mitchell Jakuboski recounted, according to CBS News New York. “The son answered the door. He said, ‘Oh, I hit my mother in the head. I gotta take her to the hospital,’ and he shut the door.”

Another neighbor revealed that the pair always had screaming matches over the years. “They would get heated,” the neighbor told the New York Post. “They’d yell at each other back and forth, in I think Russian, we would hear the screaming.” (RELATED: Woman Says She Stabbed Her Mother To Death On Phone Call With Police)

There’s little indication that Deshkovich was an established politician, according to the New York Post. However, the latest images on his social media page depict him alongside various local political figures. Republican Brooklyn Councilman Ari Kagan minimized his association with the suspect.

“He volunteered for me once. I met him like three times. He likes to post photos all the time,” Kagan told the New York Post.

Additionally, it was reported by The New York Daily News that the accused formed a business entity in June with the name “Vlad Deshkovich for State Assembly.” Deshkovich has been denied bail and ordered to undergo psychiatric evaluation, per Law and Crime. He awaits a scheduled court hearing Thursday.
