FKA Twigs said she remembers Shia LaBeouf “basically strangling” her when they were together during an interview about their alleged abusive relationship.

The 33-year-old singer talked about her past relationship with the 34-year-old actor and how if she was pleasant to another person he would get jealous. The comments came during her appearance on the “Grounded with Louis Theroux” podcast. The clip was noted by Billboard magazine in a piece published Monday. “Being nice to a waiter, or being polite to somebody, that could be seen as me flirting or wanting to engage in some sort of relationship with somebody else, when I’m literally just ordering pasta,” she added. “I was told that I knew what he was like and if I loved him, I wouldn’t look men in the eye. That was my reality for a good four months.”

The superstar singer claimed the “Fury” star threatened “to crash the car unless” she said that she “loved him” and shared that it all happened before he allegedly ended up “basically strangling” her “at a gas station.”

As previously reported, FKA Twigs said in a lawsuit, filed in December against the actor, that she allegedly experienced “relentless abuse” by LaBeouf which included physical, emotional and mental abuse during their almost year-long relationship.

It was after the desert trip she decided to make a call to a helpline for abused women, calling it a “massive wakeup call.”

The “Two Weeks” hitmaker went on to explain when people ask why she didn’t leave the relationship sooner, she admitted it felt “genuinely impossible.”

“I felt so controlled and I felt so confused and I felt so low, beneath myself, that the fear of leaving and knowing I had all this work to do to get back to just feeling OK, it felt completely overwhelming,” the singer shared.

At one point, she said the alleged abusive relationship was “something that was completely unexpected” and that was one reason she decided to speak out.

“When I’m older, if I have a daughter, I want to be able to say, ‘This thing happened to me. And I dealt with it,'” she added. “It’s a big thing to heal publicly and have to do it in front of everyone, but I can do it. I’m a big girl and I can do it.”
