The Miami Dolphins reportedly tried to lure Sean Payton to the franchise with a ton of cash.

The Super Bowl champion retired after this past season following an incredible run with the New Orleans Saints, but that didn’t stop the Dolphins from trying to hire him. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

The franchise offered him $100 million over four years to take over the franchise and lead a new era of football in Miami, according to Sports Illustrated.

In case you didn’t already know, Payton is a major name in the world of coaching, and the fact the Dolphins were reportedly ready to offer him $100 million to coach is proof of that fact.

The Dolphins are eager to have a dominant team after drafting Tua in the first round, and they apparently felt Payton was the man for the job.

Clearly, he passed on the opportunity, but if these are the dollar figures getting thrown around, you have to imagine he’ll be back sooner than later.

I think just about everyone feels Payton won’t stay retired forever, but his retirement could come to an end very quickly if he can score a quick $100 million.

It should be interesting to see how it plays out over the coming years, but I think there’s a 100% chance we see Payton coach again.
