The Josh Harris era in D.C. is off to a horrendous start.

Josh Harris — the new owner of the Washington Commanders — showed up to “Monday Night Football” to not just see his newly purchased team square off against the Baltimore Ravens in a preseason contest, but to also make an appearance in the broadcast booth with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.

While talking with Buck, who was making hand gestures as he was speaking, Harris reached out and gave him a painfully awkward handshake thinking that the commentator wanted one — but he didn’t. And it didn’t take long for Harris to realize it, creating straight hilarity in the process.

To his credit, Buck tried to play things off like nothing happened, continuing on with what he was saying and not being phased whatsoever.

Aikman, who was representing all of us in that moment, allowed himself a small smirk and an even smaller chuckle before winning back his composure. I’m honestly amazed he managed to hold it together as much as he did. It was just that hilarious.

Liking the Josh Harris era, ladies and gentlemen?

Man, his tenure as Washington Commanders owner is going to be an utter disaster at this rate. Just last week, the franchise welcomed back Anheuser-Busch out of all companies — and Bud Light out of all brands — as a major sponsor, and completely glorified it in the process. And now Harris is out here making a complete fool of himself on national television. (RELATED: Petition To Bring Back ‘Washington Redskins’ Name Gets Over 100,000 Signatures)

Maybe we should’ve kept the team with Dan Snyder…
