Production on Taylor Sheridan’s military drama “Lioness” wrapped in Fort Worth, meaning we’re all set for the series to hit our screens on Oct. 27.
“Lioness” started filming in Texas back in May, wrapping the season production in late August with lead cast members Zoe Saldana, Genesis Rodriguez, Nicole Kidman, Michael Kelly, Morgan Freeman and more, according to the Fort-Worth Star-Telegram. It’s one of a whole host headed for our screens in the coming weeks, proving one of my earlier theories true: Taylor Sheridan and Paramount+ are going to own the fall television schedule like no other network.
It’s no secret that Sheridan and his shows are often snubbed by the corporate Hollywood elites who control awards season and all that other frilly dystopian crap. But it’ll be hard for any network to compete with the viewership potential Paramount+ has on its hands heading into September. First up, we’ve got “Tulsa King” season two, which starts on Sept. 15.
“Lioness” is followed shortly by both “Yellowstone” on Nov. 10, and one of Sheridan’s new series, “Landman,” a week later, on Nov. 17. (RELATED: Billy Bob Thornton Shares Epic ‘Landman’ Update)
Fans still don’t know if “Yellowstone” season five, part two will be the actual final season of the series. Big questions still remain over Sheridan’s approach to wrapping up Kevin Costner’s character storyline and who will inherit the ranch. Paramount+ and Sheridan are also lined up to kick off a whole new “Yellowstone” spin-off in 2025, so fans will want to see whether there are any crossovers in the flagship series.
“Landman” has so many A-listers lined up for the cast, it’s hard to believe it’ll be bad. It’s not like Sheridan has ever made a bad movie or show ever.
